The SPARK Camps are 12-day immersive learning journeys designed to equip young people with essential life and soft skills—ranging from communication and self-awareness to resilience, teamwork, and values-based decision-making. Grounded in the belief that personal growth is the cornerstone of life readiness, these camps create a safe, engaging environment where students can explore their potential, build confidence, and express themselves with authenticity. Each camp is thoughtfully adapted to the local context, ensuring that even in areas with limited exposure to such interventions, young learners experience meaningful and lasting transformation.
Launched through a partnership between the West Garo Hills District Administration and the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), and implemented by Avenues, Meghalaya, the SPARK Camps mark a significant step toward inclusive youth development in the state—one that uplifts dignity, courage, and possibility in every participant. With Tikrikilla leading the charge in April 2025, further camps were rolled out in Bhaitbari and Phulbari in May. Through SPARK Camps, West Garo Hills has emerged as a frontrunner in youth skill-building across the Garo Hills, offering a replicable model for soft skills-focused education in remote and underserved communities.
